City today: problems and solutions
Chernogolovka has separated administratively from Noginsk region, and now is governed by two power branches: city's administration and academic Presidium of Scientific Center Chernogolvka. Each of them, having its own specific goals, keeps unified startegy - to promote activity directed on commercialization of scientific, theoretical developments, and their use in high technologies.
Scientists actively participate in solving city's problems. Thus, in 1993-1994 there was conducted an initiative work to create a network of devices for checking water and central heating consumption on institutions and plants of the Scientific xcenter and the city. As a basis for this work an experience of the Institute of Microelectronics Technology and High Purity Materials was used.
In the Scientific Center a regional branch of the Moscow State university is established, where chemical, physical, geological department will be run. Besides, additional few departments, including medical department, will be organized. Such a joining of efforts of High School and Academic Institutions is a good opportunity for excellent training of students and post-graduates, "new blood" of Russian science. It's also the best way to improve the situation with the employment of qualified personnel.

Institutions and scientists of the Scientific Center have good working relations with leading scientific centers and firms of Western Europe, Japan, and USA, namely, with Max Planck Society in Germany, Rome University, European Center for nuclear research, Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Oxford and Cambrige Universities etc.
At present, few joint ventures were established with western firms. They promote unique technological developments and methods such as technologies of new material production and new methods for production existing technologies; coating depositing technology; crystal growth; new cryogenic and vacum installations; optics for technological lasers; composite materials; molecular sourecs and electron injectors; developments in microelectronics, electrochemistry, and thin film technology.
